Business proprietors in Amsterdam are in terrorized from criminals who are threatening to provoke deeds of horror unless these criminals are rewarded a blackmail fee in bitcoin. According to a recent Netherlands publication, enterprises in Amsterdam have received email threats of hand grenades if they don’t strip out €50,000 worth Bitcoin.

It is proclaimed that at the minimum of three coffee shops and Club ABE & Lounge on Amstelstraat in Amsterdam received the email. The email concerns the city’s system of closing down a business if a bomb is discovered or an occurrence of a firing occurs on the property.

The representative commands the entrepreneurs to create an account on or, purchase €50,000 in bitcoin, and transfer it to a particular account. The email additionally remarks, “After that, you will never hear from us again.”

If restitution doesn’t proceed in a week, the amount is doubled. The criminals stated if they do not receive 100k by 5 days, they will shoot a bullet into the property or will tie a grenade to the front door. Added, if they discover that any of the business owners have filed a report or shared this message with someone else, they shall promptly assure they have to shut their doors for a minimum of 3 months. “As soon as you get permission again from the municipality to open your doors, we will come again unless you pay 200k.” It further warns.

Club ABE received the email primarily in May this year and last year in August had previously encountered an event of a hand grenade bound to the club ABE’s door. The co-owner of the club reportedly stated, “It could be that the same person or group is involved, but there’s no clarity on that.” He then appended that the investigator informed him that the mail was kenned to the department, so the cub ABE weren’t the first ones to receive threat emails, but the club did not pay.

Maurice Veldman, a lawyer representing plenty of coffee shops in the city of Amsterdam reported that the coffee shop proprietors are not overwhelmed by the email.

He claimed that these sorts of threats are not to be taken grievously since they are very easy to make. But coffee shop owners had to report because coffeeshops signed a treaty with the mayor which states that they are obliged to report everything related to safety, Maurice Veldman, the lawyer stated. He emphasized that none of the coffeeshops paid the necessitated outlay and that there have been no conflicts.
