OmiseGO launches Plasma Dog: 2D game on Ethereum Network Blockchain

OmiseGO [OMG] has officially launched its first decentralized app (dApp) on its network. OmiseGO is a firm that provides an open payment platform and decentralized exchange issued on the Ethereum Network which is an open source public blockchain.

OMG has moved one step closer to deploying user-friendly dApps to the network with the launch of its all-new game “Plasma Dog”, one of the most innovative blockchain games on OMG’s Plasma testnet.

The official announcement of the game Plasm Dog was on the 1st of November at the Devcon4 conference held in Prague, Czech Republic. Plasma Dog can be played for free. Plasma Dog is the 2D game which has been developed by Hoard. Hoard is the group that has been into developing cryptocurrencies into innovative video games.

Hoard is kind of similar to Warner Bros Super Mario Classics. Plasma dog, having an efficient proof of concept (PoC) system, functions at the back end of the game utilizing the Plasma MVP. This new 2D game has made use of the various cryptocurrency terminologies as characters in the game. The antagonist is named as node collusion, invalid blocks, double spends, faulty child chains etc.

Unspent Transaction Output (UTXO) is the currency spent within this game.  Chris Robinson, Hoard community manager has said, “True ownership is enabled when players have full control of the content of their gaming experience, including their avatars, XP & skills, in-game items, maps, and other customizations. If a player has true ownership of these items, they are free to conduct all types of commerce with them — buy, sell, share, rent, trade, etc on both primary and secondary markets. Players should even be free to import their items from one game into another.”

One of the advantages of using this system is that Plasma MVP carries out cheap transactions also an efficient output is obtained without the need for sacrificing security. Users who won’t lose their lives in the game will earn the UTXO token.

Alongside, players can pick up the UTXO token in-game. When this happens, the in-game currency is sent to the wallet of the user via the server. In easy words what this means is that the UTXO tokens earned in-game are added to the wallet of the player and the player can do whatever he wants with the earned token.

Plasma Dog has highlighted the flagship goal of Hoard which is to create a “simple video game with true ownership”. OmiseGO has described itself as a “a scaling solution for finance on Ethereum, enabling transparent, peer-to-peer transactions in real-time. The decentralized network facilitates self-sovereign financial services across geographies, asset classes and applications.”
